Staying Motivated – Don’t Give Up

It probably doesn’t matter where you live but if you are anywhere along the east coast, you have probably been blasted atleast a few times with a good amount of snow and it’s taking everything in you to stay motivated with your exercise routine.

We’ve all been there and as a matter of fact, there are alot there right now – me included! I always comment about how great I feel when the sky is blue and the sun is shining. There’s a reason for why depression sufferers use special lights indoors during the winter months to improve their mood and keep them from spiralling.

Although you may have moments of “not-so-good” behaviour and feel like you have failed “again”, using that sort of interal dialogue is the perfect way to ensure you will not progress to where you want to be.

Instead, starting with just getting up first thing in the morning, looking in the mirror and telling yourself you are WORTH IT can be extremely powerful when you know there is a good couple months to go before spring begins to show its face. Realizing that thoughts influence feelings can make all the difference in your reaction to your external environment. Ever wonder why some people always seem so darn happy all the time?? It comes from within. I know…you’ve heard it all before (and I have too). But I’m not perfect. I need reminders every once in a while too. We all need a good kick in the pants every now and then to keep us going.
