I am not sure about any of you, but summer time put a damper on my health and fitness schedule. Without the kids in school and on a regular routine, I did not have the time nor the desire to do my morning exercises, nor did I want to be stuck indoors cooking since we were always out and enjoying the sunshine! By the end of August I was feeling tired, a little run down and not as strong or fit as I felt in June. Needless to say, I was happy once school was in session so I was back to my schedule. Here are just a few ways that I got started.

1. I got moving right away. First thing in the morning I would do my daily workout so that it was out of the way and I would have energy for the rest of the day. No procrastinating!Back to school - back to schedule

2. I planned meals in advance. I would plan what my family was going to eat for dinner for the week so that there was no more grabbing fast food on the go. The fridge is now always full with healthy and prepared food to eat.

3. I went to bed and woke up at a regular time. With the sun shining and so much to do during the summer, I was going to bed too late and waking up too early (when the sun rose). Now that school is back on, I find that it much easier to stick to a regular sleep schedule and find that I have more energy during the day.

I hope this schedule sticks around for a while… But I am not going to give myself a hard time if it doesn’t!
